Greetings from Houston, Texas! Just wanted to remind all 39 Clues fans that Book 7 - THE VIPER’S NEST - is coming out today. It’s by the incomparable Peter Lerangis, who also wrote Book 3, so we can all look forward to another heart-pounding thrill-ride for Amy and Dan as the stakes get even higher in the clue hunt.
And, of course, the arrival of THE VIPER’S NEST starts the countdown to my next 39 Clues novel - Number 8 - coming April 6th.

I think 2010 is going to be a great year. Busy - isn’t it always - but really exciting, especially for series fans.
We start it off with the 8th 39 CLUES, which coomes out April 6th. I still can’t reveal the title - all this Clue hunt secrecy takes some getting used to. (I’ll probably be authorized to tell you more when Book 7 comes out in February).
And, of course Swoobreakle (i.e, SWINDLE, ZOOBREAK, The Man With The Plan, etc.) continues in the fall with FRAMED, the third book in that series. That’s what I’m finalizing right now.
But to be honest, what I’m really wrapped up in at the moment is TITANIC. It won’t be published until 2011, but, wow, what an unbelievable story! I guess that’s why the Titanic thing keeps “resurfacing” decade after decade - even 98 years after the sinking.
And, of course, I’ll be on the road a ton, doing my usual school and library visits, meeting my readers to spread the word about projects old and new!

Hi, all. I just arrived in Philly to give a speech at the National Council of Teachers of Englsih conference here this weekend.
Projects update - The 39 Clues Book 8 is totally finished, due to come out April 6th. FRAMED (the 3rd installment in the SWINDLE/ZOOBREAK group) is in revision right now. So I’m currently full-steam ahead (literally) on the first book of the TITANIC trilogy. No titles yet, but right now, I’m leaning toward “Unsinkable” as a working title for Book 1.

Greetings from one of my favorite cities - Vancouver, BC, Canada. A quick reminder to my BC readers: I’ll be at the Vancouver International Writers Festival this week, and I’ll be signing at Vancouver Kids Books on Wednesday evening at 7pm. Attention, SWINDLE fans. The long-awaited sequel, ZOOBREAK, hits the shelves today.
What’s a ZOOBREAK? Think prison break with zoo animals. When Cleopatra, Savannah’s lost monkey, turns up in a really cheesy zoo, Griffin, The Man With The Plan, devises an elaborate zoobreak to bust her out of captivity.
Just wanted to spread the word. There are more than a million SWINDLE fans out there, waiting for the return of The Man With The Plan, his team of baseball-card-heisting (now zoobreaking) accomplices, and Luthor, the most lovable mean-eating Doberman on Long Island.

Okay - forgive me for overloading you with new stuff, but that’s how it is in the fall.
POP hits the shelves tomorrow, and I’m really psyched about it.
If you’ve ever seen me, I’m on the skinny side – 165 pounds, not a stick figure, exactly, but definitely not the kind of physique you immediately associate with a monster on the football field.
So why write about the “pop,” the crunch of gridiron contact at the professional level? Any true world-class pop would probably land me in intensive care.
Well, for starters, I’m a fan (Go Giants). But there’s a darker side to football – the terrible toll the sport exacts on some of the athletes who play it at the highest level. And that gave me the idea to write about the oddball friendship between Marcus Jordan, sixteen-year-old quarterback, and Charlie Popovich, the NFL’s King of Pop. As the new kid in town, Marcus thinks he’s hit the jackpot when he gets the chance to work out with Charlie, the greatest football player he’s ever seen. But there’s a secret about the NFL veteran that his family is desperate to hide.
It was an eye-opening book for a football fan to write. This fall, I’ll watch the games twice as eagerly as before. But I’ll also wonder at those bone-jarring collisions that make the sport so exciting … what’s going on deep inside?
I hope you enjoy POP. And for those of you who aren’t totally burned out on new books, remember that ZOOBREAK - the SWINDLE sequel - will be coming a week later, on September 1st.
