Dear Gordon Korman,

We have been busy reading your book Restart and I think it is one of your best. Restart has a lot of super awesome stuff that is so funny! My favorite funny part is when Mr. Solway hit Aaron right in in the kidneys with his walker. My second favorite funny part is when Brendan made “How to Clean Your Tricycle”, “Leaf Man”, and “The One-Man Band.” My third favorite funny part is when Chase said he was spying on poor Mrs. Tottenham doing yoga in “form fitting spandex.”

On a more serious note, let me talk about how I think this book is persuasive, informative and entertaining however, I think it is more persuasive than the rest. I think there are many parts that you made us believe that bad people, or people with fixed mindsets, can change into someone amazing! The number one example is Chase. He bullied everyone and was not nice. He changed into someone who was honest and kind! Another example you used in the story is when Joel hated Chase so much he was forced to leave his school and go to another one. When he did come back he was very scared of Chase but they ended up being friends! Another example I see of you using persuasion in the book is, before the accident, Chase did not want to do community services but now he loves going there.

The book is also informative because we learn about bullies and how its not right. But we would not have seen a change in Chase as a bully if he has not gotten amnesia. Your book showed us people can make new friends and make better choices. This was good information.
Your book is also very entertaining because of the many funny parts that I had mentioned earlier in this letter. However, I do have some questions for you. I wonder, what would have happened if Chase never got amnesia? Would he have been mean all along? I liked this book because it has a mixture of serious and funny, is this the only book that you used this style of writing? I am wondering that because I have read more than 8 of your books and most of them are just funny, not serious. Will you be writing a sequel to Schooled, The Everest Series and/or Restart? Will you be writing more books in the Swindle Series as well? I just love your books so much. They’re amazing!
