Dear Gordon Korman,

Our grade 5/6 class at Dufferin area Christian school is reading your book, I want to go Home! Our teacher showed us Keagan’s letter and we had a competition to see who had the best letter, and whoever won got to send their letter to you. My friend and I won, so this is our letter.

Dear Mom and Dad,

Camp is just “great”. Every day we wake up at 2 a.m. and run 10 km through the forest. We only get chased by bears occasionally, and only the slow ones are attacked. Everyone who went on a run today got malaria. Don’t worry I was on work detail. Last night there was an earthquake and the bathrooms were destroyed. So, I was cleaning up the old one and digging a hole for the new one. Our camp counselor Chip looks like a werewolf. He is very hairy and never goes to sleep. But every time WE don’t go to sleep, he pulls off boards on our bed. Eventually our bed collapses and we must sleep in the trees. He is also an old gangster who came from jail. I did have one friend whose name is Mike Webster, but he got kidnapped by Chips old gang. All the food here tastes like rubber and the drinks taste like swamp water.

Love your unhealthy son

P.S. If this is messy it’s because I was bit by a rabid chipmunk sleeping in the trees and I’m shaking and can hardly keep my eyes open.
