Hi again, Cole,

The major influence in my life was, of course, school, where creative writing was strongly supported and encouraged. It was my 7th grade teacher who assigned the project (a “novelette”) that became my first book, THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. And there was my Mom, who wrote for a weekly newspaper at the time. She was the one who convinced me that “I can’t do it” was a cop-out! She encouraged me, taught me a lot, and convinced me that, with the right attitude and a lot of work, even a kid can become anything he or she wants to be. OK? Hope that helps.
