If it helps, I’d recommend Scholastic or Penguin- while they are big book companies and don’t publish just anything, they wouldn’t degrade you by age and you have a higher chance of making the cut without an agent than you would with other comapnies. Young authors *are* out there; I hope you two can become ones yourselves!
