Dear Gordan Korman,

Hi, my name is Natalie P and I’m a Grade 5 student of St. Geralds catholic school.  In class we’ve been reading your book Restart and we have just recently finished it, and I thought it was amazing!! Your book really spoke to me as a reminder of how we can all change.  Sometimes we all have ups and down and we all make mistakes like Chase. Chase has completely lost his memory and he has to start his life fresh, from a blank page. Chase has started his new life and new personalities, he has found some ups and downs like stealing Mr. Solway’s metal. This book was such a good reminder of how we can all change and be the best possible versions of ourselves making the best choices possible. The book Restart is an amazing book with a very strong message.  The second I looked in the book restart I found two very powerful quotes, the first one is “Lose your memory.  Find your life”, this quote is a very powerful quote with the meaning representing Chase Ambrose, the kid who lost his memory, and became a completely different person with a kind, strong personality. The second quote I thought has such a strong and meaningful quote, the quote was “It’s like I’m surrounded by all these people, but I’m still alone” page 27.  This quote spoke to me as a reminder of how much we all wan’t to fit in and be “cool”.  Before Chase’s amnesia Chase chose the wrong type of popularity, he chose intimidation.  I thought that this quote represented Chase as the kid who couldn’t even remember his own parents, the kid who lost his memory and was once the bully of all bullies and a champion of all champions.

From, Natalie P
