Good day Gordon;

My Kinette Club hosts an essay contest for Grade 5 & 6 students in the London, Ontario area. Topic: “Why I Am Proud to be Canadian.” This is the essay contest 20th consecutive running.

Currently these essays are being judged. We have reached out to Canadian companies, sports, government and celebrities to be sponsors for the presentation/announcing of the 2 winners. 1 from each grade. This year’s essay authors have mentioned you. I did a little research as I don’t have children in school and learnt that you grew up in Thorndale, Ontario.  Wow, this year’s winner(s) maybe from the school in Thorndale! Won’t it be a thrill to speak with a Canadian who is known around the world who grew up where you did? 

With the health cautions currently in place the essay committee is asking sponsors to email/mail or give a phone call to the 2 winning authors. The winners should be confirmed before the end of May 2020 and contact through the classroom teacher will allow us to use the outline methods of congratulating the 2 winners in June 2020.
