Hi, Lana,

I was 12, in 7th grade, when I got the assignment to write what our teacher called “a novelette.” He wanted a longer story that didn’t end after the first page or two. I got carried away, and quite accidentally wrote 100 pages of a story I called “Bruno & Boots.” It became my first book, THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. So I guess you could say I never decided to become an author. By the end of the English assignment, I already was one. And I’ve been writing ever since.

What kind of help are you looking for? I can try.                                 —–Gordon Korman—–
