Hi, Habibat,
Thanks for posting. I’ll try to answer all your questions.
1. I came up with Chase the same way I created the setting, the other characters, and the story. It was all from a lot of hard work, and plenty of thinking and plotting. No big mystery; it’s just work.
2. The writing went very smoothly, actually. That’s mostly because I plan very carefully before I start the writing. So I know exactly what I’m trying to say at any given point in the story.
3. My favorite character is Brendan Espinoza. I’m a comedy writer at heart, and he provides the comic relief in the book. Plus he was nice to Chase even though at first he was a little afraid of him.
OK? Thanks for your interest. I’m glad you enjoyed the book. —–Gordon Korman—–
