Aha! Now that I’m alive, I can be pumped for information! OK, Quinn.

The main technique I like to use is writing different chapters of a book from the point of view of different characters in the story. That way you get a well-rounded view of exactly what’s going on and how everyone sees events and circumstances. I also like to use humor to develop a character. As in Brendan Espinoza in RESTART. I use him to develop Chase’s personality. And Brendan is a pretty funny guy.

See how it works? Don’t sell yourself short, Quinn. You’re a bright person who can easily recognize what an author is doing to tell a story or develop characters.

Hope that helps.                                                                        —–Gordon Korman—–
