Write a lot, Jonah — stories, notes to people, letters, even a diary or journal. Your writing will get smoother, and will probably read smoother too. And NEVER write a single word unless you plan your story first! That’s Rule #1, one that I never break. You can’t say anything well unless you know exactly what you’re trying to convey. And you can;t know that unless you plan it first.
