Dear Ms Leash,

I’m sorry to hear that your daughter was so troubled by the cover of NO MORE DEAD DOGS. If she had read the story,it deals with a kid who is rebelling against reading books where the dog dies. The cover, I admit, is a bit graphic for the content. You probably know, of course, that the covers are designed by the publisher and not by the author.

Please apologize to your daughter for me. I’m so sorry she was upset.
