Chapter 29
> Whoa—so, Chase is wallowing. He just sees himself as an irredeemable miscreant, and he assumes everyone else sees him as a villain as well.
> Have I mentioned recently how much I like Corinne?
> “… it’s pretty clear that the old me and the new me aren’t two separate Chases. Can I really claim to be ‘no longer the same person’?” – Chase’s introspection (and what he says to Judge Garfinkle right after) reminds me a lot of “Red” Redding’s interview with the parole board in Shawshank Redemption.
> This chapter starts with Chase saying “There are worse things than falling off a roof.” as he starts his inner monologue of self-reproach and self-loathing. It finishes with a similar thought, but one that’s so much happier: “Falling on my head was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
Guys! Only one more chapter!
