Hope the tea calmed things down a little.

If you are 25k under, your timing is off, which you knew. It’s been my experience that there is no way to punch that up without adding new material. Can you add a character or characters? Or can you add an event that doesn’t disrupt the flow quite so badly? I know it sounds like your planning is inviolable due to certain planned stunning effects. Planning is everything, but it sometimes backs you into a corner.
