“It” Clicked

Gord! I think it just clicked. Writing. Becoming an author. It just hit me, after five years of being serious about this, that writing is an art. I know every writer has a different journey, but for me? It is an art. I just realized that I’ve got to stop applying every single person’s advice to myself to make my art. At that point, it’s theirs! I can’t keep crushing my passions and my skills to try and be like everyone else. At that point, it might as well not “be” creative writing. Regurgitated writing. Old writing. Recycled writing. No, I’ve got to do my own thing and believe in myself. Find what I value and do what I want. Crazy, right?
