*Son of Interflux* is sadly not yet available as an ebook in the United States. More surprisingly, there is only one single copy in the Los Angeles Public Library system, the Scholastic hardcover from 1986/7, and I currently have it on my desk. (I assume that the other copies purchased thirty years ago have been lost to younger, less ethical readers than I. I also assume those readers have learned the meaning of the word *borrow* in the intervening three decades. Not that I blame those once-kids too much; *Interflux* was an ALA Best Book for Young Adults, and I read my paperback to tatters in middle school.)
Anyway, Gordon, I just got to the part where creative writing student and basketball powerhouse Bill McIntosh reads from his high fantasy children’s novel, and I’m chagrined to discover that all the fantasy-esque names are just backwards spellings of the names of the people in your life. As a kid, I adored all the little inside jokes like this in your novels, and to my delight, I found that they still make me chuckle. May the light of Ecinreb and the time of Niknar Tap protect Gavin Gunhold from the dark fires of Nodrog!
