I just read Restart and used some of the themes in your book as talking points with students that I have in summer school. I was working with a group of students that have been in quite a bit of trouble and are typically distractions to a regular classroom. I quickly summarized the main theme to Restart and asked them if they could change just one thing that they’ve done or been involved with, what would it be. I was totally amazed at the genuine responses and the thoughts that these students expressed.
I love the Idea of giving kids a “restart”. Many times they do fall into a pattern of behavior or a group of friends that they cannot seem to break away from and your book is the perfect way to get them thinking about a possible restart for themselves.
Thank you very much for writing this book. In my mind, your book is a way to make connections with students that are difficult and have difficulties expressing themselves in a an appropriate manner.
I would love to have you visit our school in person or via a skype session and will be looking into that further.
Thanks again, this book is much more than a good read, I see it as a life changer for some students.
