Dear Gordon Korman,
Hello, my name is Logan B, nice to meet you (in this letter)! I’m in grade 5 and LOVE the book Restart. I am excited to read the sequel. I live in NY and have read some of your books. I’m ten years old and like to read books like biographies and historical fiction and hope you make some in the future. I recommend you make books for some characters like Brandon or Joel before the accident. And add new characters like… I don’t know maybe John, Kaleb, or Sarah. Thanks in advance!
I read Restart and loved it. It was very funny and enjoyable. I really like how you change the perspective from one character to another. I like the plot and theme. For one, I’ve never seen a book that even mentioned the word amnesia and now there’s a whole book that revolves around amnesia! I love that the beginning of the book contradicts the end, like how at the beginning Sashana pours yogurt on Chase’s head, but at the end they are friends. I love the comedy and sarcasm the old man has. I like how you made text usernames for Joel and Sashana. I love how you show the nice side of bullies and show how they should feel.
This book inspired me to be kind to the disrespected people, even if people don’t like that. I learned to never say someone is weak or stupid because they can change and could be stronger or smarter than you! This book is a huge influence for everybody including me. This helped me know even dark things like amnesia can have a fun side and help form you. This book inspires me to be a cartoonist. Three questions: one: what inspired you to write a book about amnesia? Like, really, I wouldn’t think of it in a millennium! Two: did you make up these names? If not, where are they from? Three: who is your favorite character?
Thank you for reading this! I hope you can respond, but if not then I hope the reason is you are writing a book (or there are too many letters and you can’t take it anymore!). Thanks again!!
Your “friend”
Logan
