I can see that you haven’t read the whole series right up to and including my FLASHPOINT. I won’t spoil it for you, except to say you’re on the right track with your plot suggestion.
Scholastic (the publisher) decides who writes the next book. Or, at least, they decide who to offer the chance to.
I do know all the authors you mentioned, and several others as well, but we don’t live in the same place. My best advice is to write to them (by snail mail) and ask for an autograph. That’s how my fans do it.
