Dear Gordon Korman,
Hi, my name’s Ray and I’m an eighth grader at Clay Middle School. I am writing to you for my Language Arts assignment, and I chose to write to you because you are my favorite author. Ever since my elementary school teacher read aloud the book Swindle, I have read many of your books, from your Swindle series to your Masterminds books. I have to say that I loved your writings, especially Schooled.
Even though you wrote this book a while ago, I would like to express my appreciation for this book. This book has greatly changed my perspective on many things. Not only was the story very interesting, but the book has really inspired me to you should stay true to myself. I am especially fond of Cap and his grandmother, not only because they are the main characters, but because of their different way of thinking. It really amazed me how Cap remembered everybody’s name, but that just goes to show how anyone can accomplish anything if they put their mind to it.
Thank you for making such interesting, insightful books. I hope you know that I will continue to read your books as long as they still publish.
Sincerely,
Ray
