My major in college (NYU) was Dramatic and Visual Writing, which was mostly for writing plays and screenplays. I was already a novelist, and didn’t want to change anything in my voice and style, as it was quite successful even all those years ago. And writing for plays, where you can’t describe anything except in words and stage directions, is very different from writing novels.
