Mr. Korman,

I am a 6th grade reading teacher. Each year I read several books aloud to my students. I used to read City of Ember which is a fabulous book, but I wanted my first read aloud to be from an author who had a lot of other books. My hope was that students would be motivated to read other books by the same author. Last year, I read 6th Grade Nickname Game. This year I read Ungifted. Ungifted was a giant hit. I have several boys that have read every book of yours that I own and they’ve scoured the public library as well. They have a list for me of other of your books I need to buy to complete my Gordon Korman collection. As a teacher, I want to thank you for writing books that appeal to kids. Some of the trilogies are especially good for some of my struggling readers. The Hypnotist was a favorite of your most avid fan in my class. Your books seem to really appeal to the boys, but many girls read them too. It is my most favorite thing to see them really engaged in a book. Thank you for putting those kinds of books into their hands!
