Dear Mr. Korman,
In the 1980’s you came to visit Whitney Public School in Toronto, where I had the great fortune to meet my favourite author. I still remember your reading Rudy Miller’s letter to his parents in “I Want to Go Home”. Your works, combined with your visit help spark a lifelong love of reading and learning.
I have often reread your books, with No Coins Please, Don’t Care High, the Bruno & Boots series, the Bugs Potter series, Son of Interflux & A Life in a Semester of a Garbage Bag being perennial favourites.
Now that I have children of my own, I will introduce them to your characters.
I have three questions:
1. What books would you recommend me to read to my children first? They are 5 & 6 (with #3 on the way in two months).
2. Who is the real Mike Otis?
3. Any plans to write a follow up on Bugs Potter live at Nickaninny?
4. Ok, I lied, four questions: do you ever have open event that can be attended by any children (including those of us who never quite got around to growing up) in Toronto anything this year?
Yours in gratitude,
Geoff Pollock
