Hi, Geoff,
Thanks for posting. I’m grateful for your ongoing support for my work. I hope your kids will enjoy it too.
Your questions:
1. 5 and 6 and ,as yet, unborn are pretty well too young for my books, especially the new guy. But you can’t go wrong with Bruno and Boots, and you might start them out with LIAR, LIAR, PANTS ON FIRE, and then go on to the SWINDLE series. That’s about the youngest I have to offer.
2. Funny you should ask that. My people are 99% fictional, but Mike Otis is the one exception. He was the college roommate of a friend. He was from a very wealthy South American family, his smoking habits were suspect, he really did dress like that, and he was, to say the least, odd.
3. I think Bugs Potter is done. I don’t know if I could get back into drumsticks mode after all these years. And BiBi Lanay is definitely over the hill by now. I know I am!
4. And the closest I get to you this year is Buffalo sometime in May when they’re going to give me their Knickerbocker Award for a body of work. But keep an eye on the Travel Schedule on this website. I’ve done a lot of Toronto public stuff this year so far — Word on the Street, and the Ontario Library Association Silver Birch Awards at Harborfront — my MASTERMINDS even won!
Thanks again. Best wishes for the arrival of a happy, healthy new Pollock. I hope to meet you and the kids at one of the Toronto venues in the future.
Best regards,
