“A lot of years ago, I had plans for a sequel. I even had what I considered a pretty good plot. (I was roughly 16 at the time, and my idea of “pretty good” might have been slightly off.) But there was little enthusiasm from the publisher and editors. And then I moved on. We’re now talking something more than 88 books ago! So it’s probably not going to happen. Sorry.”

Who are those editors? Are they the same ones who wrote those amazing books between ages 12 and 16? Your ideas for pretty good are usually AWESOME!
Personally, I feel if you’d ever release a sequel to I Want To Go Home, it would hit the NY Times bestseller list. You have NO IDEA how many people have read that book and loved it. Rudy Miller was probably your best character ever.
I personally would love to know more about Rudy’s home and school life, and I’ve spent hours thinking about it.
Give us a sequel please, please please please! What would it take? animal sacrifices outside your front door? Voodoo chants? Tell me and I’ll make it happen! Just write the sequel!
(FYI, the reason why Rudy was awesome as a character was because he was both unrealistic and realistic. His perfection is unrealistic, but he acts completely realistically exactly how a kid who was always perfect would. Although I love quite a lot of your newer books – Ungifted and the Mastermind series come to mind – they’re missing an important Gordon Korman element: Unrealistic zany characters. Your new characters are all 3-dimensional! Give us some more one-dimensional Rudy Millers, Rootbeer Racinettes, Raymond Jardines, and Bug Potters! And bring back Sean Delancey’s Grandfather as well [my second favorite character of yours!])
