The truth is that I have never worked with anyone. Even during the writing of THE 39 CLUES, which was a multi-author series, each author did his or her own thing and worked alone. And I think you’ll find that writing is exactly like that — not something you do in committee, but an intensely private act of creation. You already have an author to work with — yourself! And you owe it to yourself to bring your ideas to the page.
Start with a story plan, step by step, through to a satisfying ending. And when your story is well-planned, write it down. It’s what I did; it’s what we all do, all writers. And enjoy the creation of something uniquely your own.
