Hi, Devon,
Thanks for posting and for all the nice things you said about me and my books. I’m really pleased that my MASTERMINDS books have been making such a big hit with you.
Your questions:
When I come up with a plot, it’s usually after a lot of thinking on a topic and the characters and setting I need to complete my story. Would I call it an epiphany? I don’t think so. It’s just plain work, actually. Before I start writing, I have a pretty complete plan in my head — and often on paper too — of what my story is going to be. Yes, I can make changes, even add and subtract people and events. But the basic story must be there or I would never start to write. Seriously, I don’t think anyone can write without having a “destination” to write towards. I always have to know what I’m heading for, my climax and ending.
OK? Oh, how I envy your Elective! My school gave us no such leeway.
Thanks again.
