This is a short summary that I made of Chapter 2-

Noah begins his transition to, unable to bear with the social pressure of being a “hypermisfit” and desiring a normal life. To aid his adjustment, the school let’s him bring Donovan. And Noah attempts to gain social integration by joining the exclusive Society of the Gavel.
