Chapter 16

Two notes on this chapter. First, it seems like administrators often are only interested in promotions. I think this might have come up in UNGIFTED. It certainly came up in SCHOOLED, and I think in THE UNTEACHABLES. I guess that’s what motivates a lot of school (and university) principles. I miss the days when school principles were anonymous and only aspired to perform vaudeville routines over the P.A. system.  

Second, there are definitely some Mr. Hartley vibes coming from the guy from P.U. And like Mr. Hartley, he is invited to come use the pool at 3 am on alternate Tuesdays.
