Chapter 25: Hypergravity (Raina Overbrook)
In her first chapter, I thought Raina might end up as my favorite character, she was so full of enthusiasm and confidence. The next time we heard from her, she was pretty sour on Donovan, and after that, she was projecting a lot of negativity about the summer in general. In Chapter 25, our esteemed full counselor has achieved some perspective—seeing the silver lining of the “Team Baloney” dark cloud. (Though I still wouldn’t want to mention Donovan in her presence.)
Name pun alert: “Luna was our spaciest camper.”
@Owen: It does seem like Donovan is onto something, doesn’t it? I wonder what he suspects. I hope we find out what it is in the next chapter. Good for you for chasing down one of the silly things I sometimes comment about. And with that knowledge, you’ll never look at the opening of a chapter or a magazine article the same way again.
<<“Raymond was clearly impressed. ‘Hey Delancey, you’re starting to think like Jardine. Bad move.’”>>
@Josh: My cornhole expertise comes from the three times I’ve played while tailgating. I should definitely have a tee that’s hand-inscribed “Cornhole Expert” in black magic marker. Single point for bags on the board; three points for bags through the hole. The victory stands. And yes, lucky for Luna that she didn’t need Artie to provide an ethically-questionable nudge.
