Hi, LL, SS, CC, II, & DD,

Thanks for posting and for your support for RESTART. I’ll try to answer all your questions.                                                                     1. Most authors, myself included don’t really require what you call “inspiration.” We write because we have something to say, a story to tell. That’s just about all it takes to start us scribbling!                                                                                                                         2. The story came first, and then I created the characters to serve the story. I can’t really say where my characters, and their names, come from. They just come, as I need them.                                                                                                                                             3. Poor old Mr. Solway is grumpy the way a lot of really old people are grumpy — his arthritis probably hurts, he’s probably alone in the world, and he’s living in a place that doesn’t make him very happy. He’s bored. That’s why getting attention from Chase and Shoshonna perked him up so nicely.                                                                                                                                                 4. To move the story along, Chase had to have some kind of accident that caused a head injury. Falling off a roof suited my purposes very well.

OK? I hope that answers everything the RESTART GROUP needs to know. Thanks again, people. I’m delighted that you’re planning to read more of my books.
