Hi, Confused DUDE,

I  can tell you what works for me. My rule, never to be broken is that I never write a single word unless my book is well-planned first. Yes, you can make changes, add and subtract people and events. But the main story, pretty much scene by scene, must be there before you start. I’m able to plan in a (more or less) orderly fashion. It sounds like you need to go back to start and reorganize what you have according to some sort of master plan. Writing is working towards an ending and telling the details of the story and characters along the way. Planning in advance keeps me on the straight and narrow. Maybe it will help you too. Again, good luck.                           —–GK—–
