Hi, L.G.,   I’ll try to answer all those questions! #1-6. I started writing in 7th grade, and the story I wrote became my first book, This Can’t Be Happening At Macdonald Hall. So I had no job, chose no field. I was 12. 7&8. There are no advantages or disadvantages. I chose it, and I can unchoose it. (I wouldn’t!) 7. Competitive is the wrong word. Your stuff has to be good. 8. Typical day: I write during normal work hours because I have a wife and kids and want to live in their world. 9. A good education is a must. 10. I have a BFA from NYU, major: dramatic writing. 11-15. I’m self-employed. If I sell my work, I get paid, & conversely …  17. A book is finished when the story is over. But average is 6 to 8 months. 18&19. I’ve never had a book turned down, and I don’t believe in self-publishing. 20. Only small changes. I have great editors. 21-24. I think Jax is done. The demand doesn’t seem to be there. No joining heroes, or stories, no cross-pollination. Each hero has to stick to his/her own book! 4 movies, 1 TV series. Try Netflix or Canadian YTV for the Bruno&Boots movies, Nickelodeon for Swindle, and Disney archives for THE JERSEY, which was The Monday Night Football Club series. And there is no sequel to I Want To Go Home, mostly because I wrote it 40 years ago! It’s considered a stand-alone classic (by me.)

OK? Thanks for your interest. I hope to be writing you a fan letter one of these days!   —–Gordon Korman—–
