Mr. Korman, 

My middle school friend and I just read Slacker as a summer book club book. It was really good and we really enjoyed it! Cameron didn’t do much for the club, but he got all the credit. 

Why is that? We wish that Daphne had gotten some credit because she wanted to help people from the start, and was very enthusiastic. 

Seeing the boy be positively changed by Daphne and Melody sends the message that boys are to be helped by girls. We wish your messages included boys doing the work themselves of changing for the better, and that you featured girls as protagonists.
