Thanks for posting.

Although there are Canada/U.S. border towns that are literally straddling the two countries in that same manner, I made up Centerlight Island. I wanted the island atmosphere for its remoteness, and as a backdrop for the rum running that typified the ’30s and ’40s. I’m pleased that you enjoyed the story. Thank you for writing to tell me so.
