Your questions:  The book came out 4 years ago, so you could say I started thinking about it 5 or 6 years ago. Planning and writing take a long time. My emotions are always engaged when I’m writing. The characters become very real to me. I can’t connect to this book in the way you mean it. It’s not about me in any way at all. It’s fiction. The only way I “connect” to it is the fact that I wrote it. I’m now at the stage where I’ve written 100 books, 97 of which are already in print and the rest are in the publishing process. I don’t worry about my manuscripts. I know when they’re ready.
