Hi, Isaac,
Lucky you to come up with a story that really excites you!
Your questions: When I started, I used looseleaf binder paper, college-ruled, ballpoint pen. Now I use a computer. Whatever you’re comfortable with.
Fear? What fear? I never had it. I was too dumb, or too young, to know that the word I was writing at that instant was the best word in that world for that particular spot. I would never dream of telling myself I was a “terrible writer.” I thought I was amazing, even when I was 12 and thought I was writing an adult novel. (Yeah, right!) You have a story you love, and you’re making copious notes. There is NOTHING to be afraid of. Better do an outline, perhaps by chapter, to make sure you don’t rush the telling of the story. And stop worrying. Have fun with it.
Glad you enjoyed UNPLUGGED. It was a hoot to write. —–Gordon Korman—–
