Hi, Karol,
In a very obvious way. You send it to them. They can’t very well accept or reject it if they haven’t read it, right?
The manuscript must be typed, double-spaced, one side of the page only, white paper, 8-1/2″ x 11″. Please be sure of the grammar and typing. Publishing companies’ readers have no patience with sloppy entries. You send it to the publisher of your choice with a covering letter introducing yourself, and telling a little about your book. You also enclose a stamped envelope, self-addressed, for the return of your manuscript if they choose not to publish it.
Publishers’ addresses are available in a book you’ll find in the library on the subject of writers’ markets. All publishers will be listed there — also the names and addresses of literary agents. I recommend an agent. Many publishers won’t read anything that comes unagented. But sometimes it’s harder to get an agent than to get a publisher.
Hey, I never said it was easy! Best of luck, Karol! —–Gordon Korman—–
