Thanks for posting. I got a letter very much like yours from another boy who wants to be a writer. And the advice I gave him is the same advice I offer you: read a lot, and write a lot. Writing stories, letters, a journal — all that helps you develop a writing style that will be smooth and comfortable, and chances are it will read the same way.

I can’t give you advice for a book, though. That has to come from you. You have to find a story you want to tell, and then plan it out carefully and, when it’s ready, sit down and do the writing. No one can help you with that part. It’s on you — you need to decide if you have something to say, and then go on and say it.
