Greetings!  I’m currently reading the Medusa Plot, which is an amazing book.  Your writing is truly excellent.  It bothered me, however, that you made the statement that Christians being fed to lions was a myth.  I feel that’s misleading.  I’d be curious to know what prompted that.  Historians agree that while that wasn’t the only punishment for Christians (beheading, burning, etc.), it was done, and they were definitely targeted for their faith (though other charges were used—arson under Nero, Atheism under Diocletian, etc.).  To say it was a myth is inaccurate and will be confusing when students study it in school (I teach World Culture.)  I’d love any information you’ve discovered that gives new information.  Thanks!
