Funny story. I was inspired to become a writer by a burning desire not to flunk 7th Grade English. My first book, which later became THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL, started as a school project. I was writing what our teacher called “a novelette,” and I got carried away and quite accidentally wrote over 100 pages!
