@Asher—Mmm, mmm! More horseradish Scrimcakes, please.

@Shaleen—I’m glad someone pointed out Yash’s unquestioned plans to nuke Arabella’s headline. So matter-of-fact. Love it!

@Asher—I think by the time we’re through, we will have compared Slugfest to maybe every other GRK book. Which makes it pretty clear this story can be held up to all the classics and will hold its own.

@Shaleen—“Land? You bought LAND?” Hahahahaha. Too funny, I need a moment.

@Jade—“But also, one thing: what happens now?”—That is eXaCtLy what I’m wondering. Arabella’s dramatic announcement. The big summer school open house night. Those are huge end-of-book climax events, not first-half-of-the-book events. Is it possible there’s even bigger stuff coming?!? (I am having a hard time keeping to my self-pledge to read only one chapter daily.)

Short notes on the amazing Chapter 12 (Yash):

> “Get it? Good? Sports? That’s a little gym humor.”—okay, now I have decided I really like Coach Finnerty.
> When was the last time we got multiple instances of homophonic humor in one chapter? Cleo asks “You know your cue, right?” but Yash responds to “You know you’re Q, right?” … AND … “I present your future—a head!” I am a sucker for some good word wit.
> Anyone else’s mind flash to poor Zeke Decibel and his ruined equipment at the Halloween Dance when Yash trashes the sound system to keep Arabella from spilling the beans about Mrs. Finnerty?
