Yes! You can write stories and screenplays for fun but not for money. Have fun with it.

And a literary agent is someone a writer hires to deal directly with publishers and movie people and everyone so the author doesn’t have to. It would be your business person. You would pay him/her to act on your behalf and as per your instructions.
