@Asher—“Wallace Wallace without the annoying traits.” 💯
I like your analysis of Mrs. Finnerty. Curious what your thoughts are about her story about the lost luggage in today’s chapter.

And on that note… Chapter 24 (Cleo):
> Several years from now I plan to pose the trivia question: Which GRK character said, “We’d have to get twenty times better just to be awful.” I fully expect the guesses to incorporate characters from at least a dozen different books.
> Cleo’s self-pep talk about the mindset of an athlete (“They don’t quit. They fight—fight hard—and keep on fighting until the end.”) is pretty great, as is her later recognition that SHE is feeling that “old feeling” of competitive spirit. It’s funny, I have used many descriptions of GRK’s niche or brand when talking about the diversity of genres he’s tackled and I usually settle on friendship as the unifying theme—but sports is rarely something I mention, yet it’s so central to so many of his stories.
> I love that several plot points are related from the perspective of unexpected characters. Like Cleo talking about the fine points of football strategy and giving play-by-play updates.
