Hahaha these reviews are amazing!! I can\’t wait to do this again with you all! In fact, now I can go back and listen to the Twinkie Squad episode of Zucchini Warriors — I hadn\’t listened because I was too scared that it was the last one and then it\’d be over, but even if it was, now we have this forum!
I\’ll let Asher and/or any surprise readers who come here in a few weeks or months (hi!) have the last word, but I have something major to add upon reflection. Believe it or not, I think Yash might be my favorite \”straight\” character…….. EVER! By \”straight\” I don\’t mean in the orientation sense, but in the sense of what Grandpa called the All-American robot: pretty smart but not too smart, decent grades, good at sports, popular, no weird obsessions. (As a side note I am carefully creating this definition in real time so that the fictional love of my life Simon Irving can\’t qualify due to his weird obsession). But this would include Boots, Sean, Tom Weston, etc. They\’re all great but Yash has such a shining personality. He\’s not perfect. He\’s a show off like Jade pointed out, but in such an honest endearing way, and so kind and becomes even more kind throughout the book, and exudes pure authenticity which is so current (authenticity was M-W\’s 2023 word of the year!). And the way he refused to tell on Nate was such an old-school commitment to integrity, and not being a snitch. Just an outstanding character.
