I wonder how long it took Gord to write this chapter since it was so good! It introduced a lot of things with good pacing and it answered quite a few prominent questions, like beginning to answer “Who is Chase Ambrose?” Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is set in the Georgia town, so that got me really excited since the fictional Chase Ambrose would live in the same state as me! Yay! Love some Georgia representation. Raymond, to answer your question, I don’t really like the separators in general, but they work really well in this story; I didn’t notice anything when reading. However, my thoughts:
– Shoshanna is flipping crazy. She’s the one who needs to go to the doctor. She’s what? Thirteen? Why is she imagining killing Chase? Yeah, he was a bad guy, but c’mon! Murder? She’s nuts!
– I really like her personality though. She’s the type of girls I’d be friends with, if not best friends.
– Also, what kind of name is Shoshanna? It’s so interesting and pretty. I looked it up and it’s Hebrew, so are her and Joel Jewish? It wouldn’t be surprising. I just don’t see those names often, especially not Shoshanna. (And I really don’t want to give her any nicknames. Her name is just so pretty when you say all of it; sorry “Shosh”!)
– This chapter was interesting. Not as interesting as number one, but enough to get me wishing I could see Chase’s thoughts again. I like the texting format and it was done pretty well. A shocker for 10-year-old me to read, but now, I’m used to it and think it’s cool.
– Shoshanna is NOT cool for dumping the FroYo on Chase’s head. That was not cool. At all. But I’m very biased; I really like Chase from chapter 1 and I never knew the Chase that tormented my (baby?) twin brother.
– Overall, I like Shoshanna’s personality but I don’t like her much at all. Want more Chase. Now!

Be blessed,
Jade
