Chapter 19

> I wonder if Bear Bratsky would’ve picked on Cam Boxer (SLACKER) or given him a pass. Based on Bear’s comment about gaming until 3 a.m., they’re both video game addicts, but Cam was a lot closer to “nerd” than “jock,” wasn’t he?

> Interesting that Bear thinks Chase “fell on his head and suddenly became smart”—instead of “responsible” or “virtuous.” It’s almost like calling someone intelligent is an insult.

> This chapter fits Bear’s personality: It’s short, with a lot of tough guy talk and a lack of much wit or wisdom. Just enough of a look inside that dim-witted and ever-enraged mind to know some trouble is brewing for Chase.

@Jade: Your My eyes/Your eyes summary was perfect. And good point that the window-opening was partially Joel showing off. So true! And yes, foreboding is the exact right word for Bear’s chapter.
