This one was fun. Agreed, @Jade, the discussion format with daily questions was a nice shake-up. It was cool to see what was on the minds of each leader. Some of the queries were really creative.

Looking ahead, I think maybe it would be good to give two days for each topic, whether the format is a discussion question or certain chapter(s), or some hybrid. Some book clubbers might have an easier time checking in every other day instead of daily. (And it doesn’t limit those who post more regularly–we can go back and forth for two days on each topic, responding and reacting to each other’s comments.)

One thought for a future book club would be to combine the two formats: Maybe cover three chapters at a time, and the discussion leader picks a question from those three chapters. That way, we would all be covering the same parts of the book at the same time, but we’d have a designated leader for each section and a different idea to focus on to encourage extra reflection.

Another thought is to post a schedule so everyone knows whose turn is next and can plan ahead.

Regarding the proposed Book Club tab: For now, the “Talking About Books” arrangement works okay. If we get to the point where we have 100 participants posting their thoughts in a book club discussion, let’s bring it up again. There are some bigger improvements that would make the Forum better for book clubs (like comments being posted without a lag, and the ability to register with the site, and alerts when new comments are posted). But that’s an even bigger project than a new tab, and the only way to justify it is if lots and lots of readers join in the discussions.

@Jade, thank you as always for facilitating the group. Your enthusiasm inspires a lot of newcomers to be repeat visitors. And to all the FAKER Book Club participants and fellow Kormaniacs, well done! Every day was filled with excellent insights. @GRK, we’re all looking forward to what comes next. Thanks for allowing us along for the ride.
