Now, that’s something I can’t promise to do. If you read the messages here, you’ll note that a lot of student writers ask me the same favor, and I’ve had to make it my policy to say no. I get so many requests that I’d be spending all my time reading other people’s work, and I can’t do that. Plus I’m not an editor. I can only judge my own work, but I don’t have the talent or training for anyone else’s. My advice: find someone you really trust to give you a true opinion — a teacher, an aunt, a big sister/brother if you have one.

And have fun with it. It affects how good it’s going to read if you honestly enjoy writing it!                              —GK—
