Big Fan and Cars in Books

Hello Gordon Korman, I want to let you know that I have been a BIG fan of your books since my junior year of high school (I am 18 and a college freshman now as of this writing). I remember finding about your work one day when my English class took a trip to the school library and we were looking for pleasure reading books for us to read. I picked up a book called Swindle and I thought the plot sounded entertaining. I then became hooked on your books, starting with the Swindle series. I LOVED the antics the characters go through and the plans they come up with (especially with Griffin Bing) in order to accomplish what they think is right, even when the plans land them in trouble! What is really cool is that it seems like once Griffin has a plan going, he is committed to follow through with the plan and NOTHING can stop Griffin and his crew, not even a bulldozer or wrecking ball!

In addition, I am on the autism spectrum and one of my main interests is automobiles. I know this is sort of a minor detail, but I really appreciate that you mention real-life car brands and models in a lot of your books (for example, how you write “Jeep Wagoneer,” “Mercedes-Benz” or “Volkswagen Beetle” instead of simply writing “car” or “SUV”). I feel like it is details like that makes the story sound more realistic in my opinion.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a nice day! Please keep up the great work; I enjoy the stories! =)

Best, Nathan J.
